TOP 4 FLORIDA VACATION DESTINATIONS TO CHECK OUT TODAY

TOP 4 FLORIDA VACATION DESTINATIONS TO CHECK OUT TODAY

By Jason Jourdan

As one of the United State’s top vacation destinations, Florida boasts a bevy of trip options designed to please any personal preference. When planning your trip to this sun-drenched paradise, here are four prime destinations to consider:

Orlando

As the self-described theme park capital of the world, Orlando has something for people of all ages. Disney is king in these parts, but there are plenty of other activities to choose from. Those seeking thrill wides would be wise to consider Universal Studios while Legoland and SeaWorld appeal to the younger set. A myriad of dining and shopping opportunities make this Central Florida location an ideal place to take the entire family.

Destin

Known as one of the best beaches in the entire state, Destin boasts miles of sugar-white sandy beaches partnered with sparkling emerald-hued waters, making the area an ideal beach vacation. Fishing enthusiasts will delight in the abundant opportunities to head out to sea for the latest big catch. There are an abundance of shopping, golf courses, water parks, theaters, and family activity centers for the entire family. One such water park is Big Kahuna’s, which is the largest water park on the emerald coast. It boasts over 40 different water play areas, with offerings for the whole family. Though not as well known as Orlando or Miami, Destin boasts beautiful beach houses and condos with plenty of things to do. From deep sea fishing, parasailing, jet skiing or just taking in the sun, you can enjoy a laid-back and content family vacation there.

Miami

Miami’s cultural landscape makes it unlike any other city in America. The sizeable Cuban population is felt in its diverse food and cultural offerings. Head to Little Havana for the most authentic Cuban food, art, and nightlife. Miami Beach is known for its art deco architecture and its host of eclectic dining, nightlife, and shopping options. There are also tons of great places to eat in and around Miami.

Sanibel Island

On the quieter Gulf Coast of Southwest Florida, this island paradise is a haven for those looking to escape the crowds and enjoy the peaceful living of the area. Because of its unique east-west orientation, this barrier island provides some of the best sandy beaches in the state. Sanibel Island is known for its abundance of seashells scattered along the shore, making it a top shelling beach. As a subtropical nesting area for sea turtles, the island provides unique wildlife viewing opportunities.

Whatever your final destination, you are sure to have a great time while visiting the Sunshine State with your family. Do not hesitate to embrace the culture and engage with the locals for the best travel experience. But because of Florida’s notoriously unpredictable weather, you may want to consider travel insurance — especially during hurricane season.
