TRAVEL IN A TRIBE

Small Group Adventures

By Jason Jourdan

As the world continues its grand reopening, the allure of undertaking a journey with like-minded individuals offers the promise of adventure and tangible experiences for many travelers. Whether embarking with friends and family, a significant other, or select groupings of both, traveling with in a tribe provides a myriad of opportunities to see the wonders of the world.

Recently, the travel tribe phenomenon has taken the adventurist community by storm. Experiences are far more meaningful than souvenirs for the “on the go” generation. Millennials are skipping the gift shop in lieu of chill schedules and new encounters. Travel companies have taken notice of the transient lifestyle and are providing more Millennial-focused travel opportunities than ever. For The Love of Travel has curated group tours specific to those between the ages of 25-39. Their mantra reads, “Meet new people. See the world. No planning required.”

Those words are as enticing as a plate of chocolate cake with ice cream on the side. Small groups are captivated by their joy in sharing interactions with local culture and cuisine as they build memories on FTLOT adventures in Croatia, Greece, Jordan, Ireland, and Tuscany.

The experts at WeTravel Academy have assembled a collection of group travel benefits. Their list of upsides include:

  • Stress surrounding planning or cost will be minor
  • Opportunity to experience new things with new people
  • Ability to bond and learn more about acquaintances, friends, and family
  • The gaining of new perspectives and opinions

The people at DuVine Cycling are eager for guests to pedal through the hills of Italy and across the mountainous roads of Chile. DuVine includes a luxuriously small group cyclist tour in Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Europe. They are not only interested in biking but also in the character and culture surrounding the destination. A DuVine tour is where one “finds their place at the table” as they connect with individuals on a personal level. Contiki, also known as the “travel with no regrets” company, offers multiple trips for 18-35-year-olds on almost every continent. Their adventures include the uncovering of Peru, the Vietnam experience, Berlin to Budapest via train, and so much more.

Travel tribes eager for a sustainable adventure have choices too. Starting January 2022, Contiki will be carbon neutral with a developed five-point Climate Action Plan in play. The travel company partnered with Synergy Enterprises to create a customized Trip Carbon Calculator to measure each participant’s emissions.

Like all travel, tribal vacationing is not without challenges. Travel insurance eases the constraints of worry to allow for memory-building trips and enriching experiences.  Whether it’s an adventure, local cuisine, or immersion in nature, an insurance policy can’t account for every possible contingency. Still, it can relieve the stress of planning for “just in case” moments. Discover the peace of mind benefits offered by Point Comfort Travel, including:
