GOING TO ALABAMA?

GOING TO ALABAMA?

By Jason Jourdan

The beautiful state of Alabama is a great place to vacation no matter the season. Alabama has beaches, lovely cities, and an overall friendly southern atmosphere. The entire family can find something to enjoy on your trip to Alabama. The following are 4 different things you can do during your visit to the state.

Huntsville

The U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville includes many interactive exhibits. This space museum has various programs throughout the year to teach visitors about space exploration. They also have museum simulators to represent how it feels to be launched in a rocket, experience three times the force of gravity, and see what the atmosphere is like on Mars. While in Huntsville you can also visit the botanical gardens or Alabama Constitution Village.

Orange Beach

A visit to the Indian and Sea Museum in Orange Beach provides a chance to see artifacts and memorabilia related to area Native Americans. Adventure Island is also another popular attraction in the area. It has go-karts, an arcade, mini golf, and more. Although Alabama isn’t exactly the first place you’d think of for beaches in the US, Emerald Coast by Owner points out that Orange Beach is a hugely popular destination due to its many beautiful white sand beaches.

Gulf Coast

There’s plenty to see and do on the Gulf Coast, including visiting the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo. The beaches are plentiful and spacious in this area, so you can enjoy some leisure time on the sand or in the warm gulf waters. Gulf State Park has plenty of trails, a pier, beaches, and a golf course. There’s also a water park and amusement part for those who prefer thrill-seeking adventures.

Lookout Mountain

Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate all the beauty that has to offer. Located in Dekalb County, Lookout Mountain has everything from hiking and biking to horseback riding. There are also several area guides to take visitors on excursions. Plus, the views of waterfalls and other scenery from the trails in the area can’t be beat.

The state of Alabama is filled with southern culture, friendly people, and beautiful landscapes. When you’re visiting Alabama with your family you have the option to see the beaches on the Gulf Coast, have an educational adventure at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, visit Lookout Mountain, and so much more. Alabama is a lovely place to visit for travelers of all ages.

Are you visiting Alabama from out of the US? Be sure to take out travel insurance beforehand to guard against mishaps.
